Easter prayers of the faithful

Introduction (by the Presider) My brothers and sisters, let us give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love has no end! He raised his Beloved Son from death. We trust he will help us in our needs too:

  1. That those who baptised at Easter time may walk with Christ (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  2. That all Christians who celebrate the resurrection may be hopeful (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us..
  3. That there may be a lasting peace in the Holy Land (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  4. That politicians may work for a better world (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  5. That people who are hungry or homeless may be looked after (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  6. That God may bless our friends in hospital or living in nursing homes (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: That those who have died may share the glory of the resurrection: We remember especially those who died recently (N & N) and those whose anniversaries occur (N & N) and all those who passed away since last Easter (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) O God our saviour and redeemer, you lead your people from defeat to triumph: hear and grant our prayers, through Christ our risen Lord. Amen.
